The Hays-Denver Road
Aug. 12th, 2005 05:19 pmWell, seems our hotel room in Hays was right next to the hotel laundry, which did not make for a pleasant morning. After driving around Hays for a bit in an attempt (finally successful, but it didn't help that we got bad directions) to find the post office, we got back on I-70 and headed west.
The rest of Kansas was boring yet uneventful, except for the heavy rain that overshadowed most of the rest of the state. Eastern Colorado was also not particularly interesting, although the fields were abating in favor of prairie. By the time we got to the Denver Airport, the terrain was beginning to get quite a bit bumpier, although low clouds still masked the now-closer mountains. Tomorrow, we pick my father up at the airport, and the trip really begins! Plus I'll have something better to write here then just boring tales of Interstate 70.
