Don't fail me now, Jagaroth
Apr. 5th, 2006 10:38 pmSo I open my laptop lid after it's been closed for a while on the louch (I'm a bit concerned about it, because I'm worried about it overheating) and I'm horrified to find that my monitor has essentially gone black. I can make out a few details on the screen, but that's it. In an attempt to fix things (although fearing that my laptop has decided that the week before a 12-page paper rough draft is a good time to die), I manage to boot into Windows, but can't see well enough to log in. I take
andfarm's advice and take it to my room to take advantage of my desk light, closing the lid in the process. To my intense surprise, I open its lid in my room and find that the screen has returned to normal.
I'm not quite sure what to make of this. I'm not going to function very well without a laptop, but I probably should get Jagaroth looked at at some point. On the other hand, the whole installing Linux thing might cause any repairsmen to be slightly confused and take actions that I wouldn't want them to take. So I guess I'm just going to hope that nothing particularly nasty happens in the near future.
