County Highpointing
Jun. 12th, 2015 05:02 pmVisited yesterday:
Mount Tamalpais. Highest point in Marin County (2571 feet). First time I've been here since 1999, which was with my dad. Miss you.
Mount Saint Helena, East Peak. Highest point in Napa County (c. 4203 feet). There really isn't anything here except for a KGO radar facility so I just went with the tree that looked to be on the highest point. This peak is also right on the county line between Sonoma and Napa (and a little bit of the trail actually touches Lake), which is how you get a county highpoint that's not the highest peak on its own mountain.
Mount Saint Helena, North Peak. AKA the actual peak (4343 feet). Not the highest point of anything (okay, of the Robert Louis Stevenson State Park), but I was right there and everything.
